Separation of A Sister Who Is Asleep

My sister is a girl who finds the only love of her life as a teenager and marries the same love. It was considered a successful marriage not only by us as her family, but also by all our friends and acquaintances. They lived together for ten years until they informed us of their separation decision without any preamble. My sister returns to the house where she grew up after ten years. This return coincides with COVID-19, and she and I spent most of our time together at our parents’ house, just like old times. Without telling her anything, I decided to photograph her while she was asleep for several months. I then asked her to look at the photos in my mother’s old albums and to separate the ones that she had clearer memories of. Through the photos in this collection, I wanted to draw a connection between the dreams and dreams that I wonder whether or not she has every night, and her childhood memories, many of which we have in common—between her inner world, my world, our outer world, our past world, her present world, and my present day of seeing the new world of a woman who is alone. Perhaps in the midst of these new photos and photos created by the camera, a character can be found who has an influential role in the decision to separate her from her ex-husband. The character that is being formed by her past and the places and times that she has been in at the time. We see them through the camera and each of these frames can be a piece of her new character puzzle. What do they have in common with my character? What can be the photo contribution as a recorder of common moments? And what are these new frames going to tell in the future?
